1100 BCE - Hallstatt Period

by Kathleen NiBhriain

The Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Ages in Europe are generally called the Hallstatt Period, which refers to artifacts found in Hallstatt, a region in Austria. Presumably, the culture of this area spread over Central and Western Europe between 1100-450 BCE.

For more specific information on the art of the Hallstatt Period and others, see Celtic Art - A Brief Overview, by Tara NiScotach bean MacAnTsaoir.
