890 CE - Norse Defeated In Battle In Breton Territory
by Iain MacAnTsaoir
At this time there were two main claimants to the throne of Brittany. These were Judikaël and Alain. In this year the forces of Judikaël met the Norse in a pitched battle on the banks of the Blavet. While his forces were successful, Judikaël himself was killed while in pursuit of the enemy. The other contender for the throne handed the Norse their final defeat on Breton soil late in the year, somewhere near Questembert.
