845 CE - Nomenoë Victorious Over King Charles of France
by Iain MacAnTsaoir
Nomenoë revolted against the tutelage of Charles II of France. Because of this, Charles mounted a military expedition and invaded Brittany. After a few successes at the begining of the campaign, Charles was soundly defeated at Ballon. As spoils of his victory, Nomenoë took Rennes and Nantes, as well as annexed the March.
